College Development Camp

The July College Development Camp is geared for Tier I and high end Tier II players between birth years 2012 - 2006 and is intended to give players in CO and the surrounding states an opportunity to engage with college coaches and learn about the college recruiting process without having to travel to the East Coast. 

Advanced 2013s may be considered at the Director of Hockey's discretion.

Cost: $525/player (TC Branded Camp jerseys are included)

Location: the full schedule is listed below, but all ice will be at Family Sports Center and South Suburban Sports Complex.

Spots are limited to 36 forwards, 24 Defensemen, and 8 goaltenders.

Coaches from William-Smith, Robert Morris University, St. Lawrence University, and The University of Vermont will be running all on ice sessions and scrimmages. Their full bios are listed below.

On FRI 7/11/2025 an NCAA Q&A Panel will take place 12:45PM - 1:30PM in the Banquet Room at FSC. All NCAA Coaches and some of our very own homegrown CO kids playing in the NCAA will be available for questions and answers.


Matt Cunningham - Head Coach, William and Smith

Cunningham was named the head coach for the William Smith ice hockey team in August of 2021. Cunningham is the third coach in program history.

In two seasons behind the bench, Cunningham has guided the Herons to a 22-28-2 overall record. The Herons have reached the NEHC tournament semifinals twice during his tenure, securing two first round upsets. Cunningham has mentored two All-NEHC picks and 43 NEHC All-Academic selecions.

Cunningham comes to William Smith after spending the last two years as an assistant coach at Dartmouth. With the Big Green, he assisted with practice planning, game management and coordinated skill development and team concepts with video review. At Dartmouth, Cunningham mentored nine AHCA All-American Scholars and 33 ECAC Hockey All-Academic selections.

Prior to his stint in Hanover, New Hampshire, Cunningham spent two years in California working with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and the Jr. Reign Youth Hockey Association. With the Ducks, he was an assistant coach with the 14U, 15U and 16U AAA boys' teams. Cunningham guided individual skill development and game strategy for teams competing in the Tier One Elite League. He also advised families regarding long-term athlete development process and assisted junior and college teams with player evaluations. In the 2017-18 season, Cunningham served as the program director for the Jr. Reign. He helped guide team-building, off-ice training and long-term athlete development guidelines. 

Liam Cavanagh - Assistant Coach, Robert Morris University

Liam Cavanagh returned to RMU for his second stint with the Colonials. The 2024-25 campaign marks his fifth season with the Colonials and second as assistant coach. 

RMU head women's hockey coach Logan Bittle announced before the season that Liam Cavanagh has been named the Assistant Coach for the Colonials. Cavanagh, who spent the 2021-2022 season as an assistant coach with the Dalhousie University Tigers, is in his second stint at Robert Morris, having spent three years as the Director of Hockey Operations.

"We are extremely excited to have Liam back with RMU women's hockey," Bittle said. "Liam played an integral part in our success in his previous tenure with our team. He has a tremendous work ethic and bleeds RMU red and blue. He will be an amazing ambassador for our program and a tremendous asset to our current and future student athletes."

Brittney Gout - Assistant Coach, St. Lawrence University

Head St. Lawrence University women's hockey coach, Chris Wells has announced the hiring of assistant coach and Saints alumna Brittney Gout '21, M'23 to the coaching staff for the 2023-24 season.

During the 2022-23 season, Gout served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Scarlet and Brown and prior to that, played three years on the ice for the Saints.

On the ice, she served as an alternate captain, playing in 79 games and recording 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points. She scored four power play goals and four game winners.

Prior to her time with the Saints, Gout spent two seasons at RIT, where she scored 10 goals and added 21 assists in 66 career games. She ranked second on the team in scoring as a sophomore with 18 points in 34 games. She was the College Hockey America Player of the Week and was a two-time CHA All-Academic Team honoree.

Gout graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and Exercise Science and Sports Studies and a Master's of Arts in Leadership from St. Lawrence.

College Development Camp 2025
