Karen Rickard - Director of Hockey, 14U Tier I Head Coach
A native of Bowmanville, ON Canada, Karen Rickard is a former University of Wisconsin standout (2004). While at Wisconsin, Rickard received the prestigious Jeff Sauer Award, WCHA Player of the Week (twice), WCHA All-Second Team, Big Ten scholar-athlete, and WCHA All Academic team. She began her coaching career in Dallas, TX with the Dallas Stars Elite; in 2015 she moved to Denver, CO serving as the Assistant Director and 19U Tier I Head Coach for the Colorado Select. Rickard joined Team Colorado in 2017 serving as the Head Coach for the 16U Tier I team and the 14U AAA tournament team. A USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, she has worked at multiple USA Hockey Player Development camps. Along with her degree from Wisconsin, Rickard earned a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University. After serving as the Head Coach of the 19U Tier I team for the past three seasons, Rickard will be back at the helm of the 14U Tier I team in addition to her duties as Director of Hockey for Team Colorado. Chris Lockrem, 16U Tier I Head Coach, Skills Coach
A native of Cleveland, OH Chris Lockrem is entering his 3rd season as the 16U Tier I Head Coach. USA Hockey Level 5 certified, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. Making history in 2021 as the head coach of the 16U Tier II Boulder Lady Roughriders, his team became the first Colorado girls team to capture a National Championship title. A Colorado State University graduate, in 2003 Lockrem moved to the mountains to serve as the Hockey Director for Aspen Junior Hockey. In 2012 he was hired as the Hockey Director for the Boulder Hockey Club, and was responsible for putting the Lady Roughriders program on the map. Along with his proven on-ice success, Lockrem has been instrumental helping shape the Team Colorado vision, serving on the Team Colorado Advisory Board at the programs inception in 2017-2018. Julia Tylke - 14U Assistant Coach
Tylke, a native of Delafield, Wisconsin, developed through the Chicago Young Americans program (now Windy City Storm) before establishing herself in the NCAA ranks.
Earning a full-ride scholarship with the St. Cloud State Huskies, she played 135 games and finished as one of the program’s top offensive contributors, recording 81 career points (41 goals, 40 assists).
Following her collegiate career, Tylke transitioned to the professional level, signing with HV71 in Sweden for three seasons before retiring.
From 2023 to 2026 Tylke coached for Perfect Skating Denver and Ignite hockey as a Lead Instructor focusing on skating mechanics, skills, and youth development.
Molli Mott - 16U/19U Tier I Assistant Coach
Molli Mott, a Colorado native and former St. Cloud State standout has served as the TC 16U Tier I Assistant Coach for the past four years. Mott played for the Colorado Select from 2005-2010. Her efforts landed her a full scholarship to NCAA DI St. Cloud State where she played for the Huskies from 2010-2014. While at St. Cloud, she was voted the team MVP after the 2011-12 season, and served as an assistant captain her senior year. Mott started her coaching career in Minnesota with Sartell/Sauk Rapids High School. In 2020-21 she began her tenure as the Tier II Lady Roughriders Director and Head Coach of the 16AA team where they won State and placed third at USA Hockey Nationals.
Danny Zawacki - 16U/19U Tier I Assistant Coach
Dan grew up in Colorado, playing youth hockey for Boulder Hockey Club and the Colorado Thunderbirds. He brings along a background in junior and collegiate hockey along with a passion for developing young players. A former player in the Bismarck Bobcats organization of the NAHL, Dan recorded 102 points in 110 games during his career with the Bobcats.
He also spent time in the NOJHL with the North Bay Trappers, where he tallied 45 points in 39 games. Dan went on to finish his collegiate playing career at Davenport University, ACHA DI.
Following his playing career, Dan transitioned into coaching youth hockey with Chris Lockrem where they won a state championship at Bantam AA and a bid to USA Hockey's National Tournament.
He went on to assist with the Yellowstone Quake of the NA3HL during the 2021–2022 season. Known for his strong eye for talent and commitment to player development, Dan focuses on building structured, competitive environments where athletes can grow both on and off the ice.
Dan is excited to bring his experience from his previous playing/coaching experiences to Team Colorado. helping develop the next generation of players while emphasizing skill development, confidence, and advancement to the next level.
Quinton Reynolds - 16U/19U Tier I Assistant Coach
Ava Reynolds - Administrative Assistant
A native of Aurora, CO, Ava Reynolds grew up playing Tier I hockey in Colorado and Dallas, TX. During her youth playing career, she attended the USA Hockey National Tournament SEVEN times. She went on to play NCAA Division I hockey at Union College (Schenectady, NY) where she had an outstanding career. While at Union, Reynolds was named an ACHA All-American Scholar, and was a two-time recipient of the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. After finishing her collegiate career at Union in 2020 with a BS degree in Psychology, Reynolds coached her first season with Team Colorado's 14U Tier I team during 2020-2021 and went on to play professional hockey in Germany for the Eisbären Berlin from 2021-2022. She has since returned to Team Colorado's 14U Tier I coaching staff for two additional seasons and is a Level 4 USA Hockey Certified Coach.
